The owner’s forays into Africa for sightseeing and safaris have lent gentle imagery throughout the home’s interior design from shower tile mosaics to their furniture selections.

The darker, more brooding, color scheme is a direct reflection of the owner’s desire to blend their African experience with a “shingle” motif of an Adirondack mountain lifestyle. The home is punctuated with a screened outdoor living area that includes summer kitchen, fireplace, dining and sitting areas balanced on either side by the main house and carriage house.
